What to do next...
The Oakville Club is home to many different activities, some being seasonal, and others available all year. Our badminton programs are one of the main draws for Members, with many leagues for all skill levels, clinics, private lessons, and youth programs. Our beautiful courts were completely renovated in 2014, and are still housed in a historic World War I Airplane hangar. Tennis is a favourite among the young, old, and everyone in between. With a season that normally runs from late March to late October, there is plenty of time hit the courts in one of our every growing Club leagues, or perhaps you need to brush up your techniques with some of our clinics and lessons. Kids are also introduced to tennis programs starting from just 3 1/2 years old - future pros!
Squash continues to grow at The Oakville Club, with more programming added every year. Work with the pros to get started, or improve, or join one of our house leagues where you play against fellow Members, normally followed by a pint, or two, in our Waterside Lounge. New to the Club is Pickleball - a great take on table tennis, played on a full sized court. Fun for everyone, but especially good for seniors due to the low impact nature of the game on joints and limbs.
The Oakville Club's offerings are rounded out by our beautiful Fitness Centre, inviting outdoor pool, and numerous sailing activities. Where else can you run on the treadmill, work your core, or train with a personal trainer while taking in the sights of the 16 Mile Creek and Lake Ontario? Attend one of our fitness classes in the studio, reach your fitness goals faster with a personal trainer, or have your own routine with our many weight machines and free weights.
From mid-June to mid-September Members can enjoy our serene Creekside pool with ample seating for dining, or relaxing with a cold drink while others take a dip. With a poolside cabana and a fresh seasonal menu, the pool is always a hot spot. We offer adults only lane swimming in the morning, with children's group and private lessons until noon. Once lunchtime hits, the pool is open to all Members and their guests to enjoy, and relax. We've recently added a high quality, durable faux grass at the back of the pool area where large sized game of Connect Four, Jenga and Bean Bag Toss are set up.
Sailing has been a part of The Oakville Club since the beginning, although we started out with much smaller vessels, you can now find 50 slips for sailboats along the Club docks. The Oakville Club's sailors participate in races, cruises and parties all season long, with opportunities to crew if you're without a sailboat. While the Club does not offer sailing lessons, we are always happy to set our Members up with nearby programs.
